It is coming...HOME IMPROVEMENT is coming in 2 weeks! Starting on Wednesday, April 16th during Wednesday Night Live we will be starting a program geared towards helping students/parent relationships become stronger through 4 ways:

April 16^th - Homewreckers: A look at the things that can destroy a home.

April 23^rd - Blueprints: How to build with a plan

April 30^th - UndER CoNstRuCtiON: How to build relationships together

May 7^th - Lighthouse: How God can use you to be a Lighthouse

Make sure to mark your calendars and please remember...

MOVIE NIGHT!

Tonight is MOVIE NIGHT! Do NOT forget...we will be starting the flix at 6pm and ending at 10pm. Come for food, movies and a GREAT time together. See you in the Youth Center.

Youth Sunday!

Youth Sunday is this coming Sunday, March 31st! Don't miss this as the students in the Youth Ministry will be leading worship at both the 8am and 10:45am services. No Shoes will be leading music and everyone's favorite bald youth worker will be speaking. Don't miss out!

YESS (Youth Emphasis Sunday School)

Yes(s), this is the Sunday School program for the 7^th -12^th grade students every Sunday morning from 9:45 - 10:30! We started a study on the book of Acts and will continue to dive deeper into that this week. While we have been temporarily in the Sanctuary as the Great Banquet has been going on...the Banquets are over which means WE ARE IN THE YOUTH CENTER THIS WEEK!! Make sure to bring your Bible!

If you want to look at what we will be going over on Sunday, look up Acts 2:42 - 3:10.

The Denominational issues and our church as we look for what God is calling us to do.

Cabinet 08-09

As we come to the point of having to face the facts of another WNL coming to a close in May, we are looking to put in place the 08-09 Cabinet. This year’s student leadership in Cabinet has gone extremely well, so we are looking to build on this leadership and meet the YM needs for the coming year.

We are looking at setting up Cabinet as follows for the next year:

3 Adults (other than the current serving Elders and Matt…you have no choice with him!)
4 High School Students
3 Junior High Students

All of these positions need to be nominated by YOU, the YM people. In order to do that and to see if the people you nominate are interested in running for Cabinet, you need to have your nominations IN TO MATT by no later than May 1^st. This position is for 1 year and you can nominate people who ARE on Cabinet currently as well as others who are not. We will be having those nominated talking with you about why they would like to serve in this position so that we can vote on this before the end of the year.

We do want you to take this seriously…this is a leadership position that will help us guide the Youth Ministry for the next year. We are looking for people who have those leadership qualities and committed to being in this position. The group this year has worked hard and the greatness of the YM this year is a testimony to the work that they put in…let’s help it and the YM to keep going in that direction!

HOME IMPROVEMENT!

Throughout the month of April the Youth Ministry will be running a program during Wednesday Night Live for parents and students called HOME IMPROVEMENT. The single most powerful entity on earth is what God designed it to be…the family. But sometimes busyness, life, and the everyday grind get in the way of having what resembles a real relationship with everyone at home. If you are a parent of a student in the YM program this year, a parent of a child in the Children’s Ministry, or are a current student going through the YM program this year…MAKE SURE to be at WNL during the month of April for HOME IMPROVEMENT. We will be looking at the disconnects within the families, the connections we need to build on, all while looking at how God has designed our families to be the most powerful thing on earth.

HOME IMPROVEMENT will begin on Wednesday, April 16th and run until May 7th. Make sure to put it on your calendars!

Youth Center Changes!

As some of you have seen, we have had some recent additions to the Youth Center. The first being the popcorn machine and the second is the pop machine. The popcorn machine has been used for the first time during Movie Night (which...by the way makes some wicked awesome popcorn). The pop machine is currently being used by the Great Banquet but it will be staying in the Youth Center after it is over. Now..both will be used during bigger events, not during events that require less hyperactivity and/or sugar buzz (i.e WNL and YESS). If you have questions or comments, please post them and I will try to answer them.

Movie Night for March 28

By now, you should know that every last Friday of the month is MOVIE NIGHT from 6pm-10pm. This is growing to be a BIG monthly event, but one request put out there that I would like to get your opinion on is whether we should turn these nights into THEME nights. An example of this would be having each movie night have a theme like Star Wars or Indiana Jones, etc. Suggestions? What should we do for this month? Let me know.
